This week, Huddersfield Textiles had the pleasure of hosting Anthony Kim, our agent from Korea, alongside our COO, Jai, who flew in from Thailand. While our team has visited Anthony in Korea several times, this marked his first visit to our headquarters in Huddersfield. It was a fantastic opportunity for him to meet the entire team and experience first hand the day-to-day operations that underpin Huddersfield Textiles.

Having Jai back at our HQ is always valuable, as it allows us to review the performance of our business overseas and discuss growth opportunities in this dynamic market. Bringing the whole Huddersfield Textiles team together under one roof is always productive, offering a chance to brainstorm new ideas and catch up on ongoing projects.

Exploring the Art of Fabric Finishing

To give Anthony a comprehensive understanding of our commitment to quality, our Director Mike accompanied him and Jai to visit W.T. Johnson & Sons, a renowned textile finishing company located just down the road. The visit provided an in-depth look at how our fabrics are meticulously finished to the highest standard—a process that never fails to impress.

W.T. Johnson & Sons, a family-run business established in 1910, has become one of the world’s leading textile dyeing and finishing companies. Their success is due in no small part to their unique location in Huddersfield, which provides access to one of the most essential resources for textile finishing: water.

Huddersfield’s natural water supply is soft and uncontaminated, ideal for achieving a flawless fabric finish. Since the 1930s, W.T. Johnson has sourced water from their borehole, drilled to an impressive depth of 1,500 feet—far deeper than the average 300 feet of most boreholes. This ensures a consistent supply of soft water, naturally filtered through the Pennine rock strata. This along with over 90 skilled workers makes this company one of the very best in the business.

Looking Ahead: New Collections on the Horizon

One of the main objectives of Anthony’s visit was to discuss our existing collections and plan for future launches. Without revealing too much, we’re excited to share that decisions have been made on new collections, which we will bring to market in the near future.

It’s moments like these—when global expertise and local craftsmanship come together—that reaffirm our commitment to delivering the finest textiles in the industry. Hosting Anthony and Jai this week was a reminder of the strength of our international partnerships and the value of collaboration.

We’re looking forward to sharing more updates soon, so stay tuned as we continue to weave new stories into the fabric of Huddersfield Textiles.
